Stephenson Law and Amdaris create data-driven platform to provide effortless legal advice to tech startups
Progressive law firm, Stephenson Law, has partnered with Bristol-based software developer and digital transformation specialist, Amdaris, to create an innovative platform that gives straightforward legal advice to educate technology startups in a modern, digitalised way.
The ongoing project, known as Puffin, uses expert data insights to provide automated legal guidance to questions posed by early-stage startups and other businesses via reviewing and considering legal insights stored in an ever-growing knowledge bank. Sitting within Stephenson Law’s sister company, flamenco, the overall goal is to create a platform that provides specific, low cost, and accessible legal advice using smart technology, instead of giving standard predetermined answers to questions, or needing to seek the expensive guidance of a solicitor for relatively straightforward legal queries.

NetDocuments Unlocks Case Insights with Highlights Powered by LexisNexis®

NetDocuments, the cloud content management platform where legal professionals do work, today introduced Highlights powered by LexisNexis (NetDocuments Highlights) at the Association of Legal Administrators’ 2021 Annual Conference & Expo in Austin, Texas. By embedding LexisNexis® case analysis and intelligence technology directly into the NetDocuments platform, legal professionals with a Lexis® or Lexis+™ subscription can enrich their documents – briefs, memos, motions and more – with citations, automatic classifications, and entities while viewing any content in NetDocuments. Highlights will be available to U.S. law firms with up to 100 users as an add-on to the NetDocuments LEARN Solution.

With NetDocuments Highlights, every document uploaded to the NetDocuments cloud is scanned for information about caselaw, judges, lawyers, document type and much more. The extracted intelligence is indexed into the firm’s repository, making it easy to search for specific information. This approach means documents can remain in the NetDocuments platform throughout processing.

Lexion Launches Email-First Contract Workflows for Rapid, Easy Adoption

Lexion, an AI-powered contract management system, today announced Lexion Workflow, a new module that accelerates the in-house legal contracting process. Lexion’s Workflow spans the entire end-to-end contracting lifecycle from intake, drafts, and negotiation, to approvals and signature. Unlike other contract management systems, stakeholders can work with Lexion’s Workflow entirely via email, eliminating the need for complex configuration and training.

“Incredibly easy is our key focus,” said Gaurav Oberoi, co-founder and CEO of Lexion. “In-house legal teams are tired of CLMs that over-promise and under-deliver. The root cause of that frustration is nearly always tied to organization-wide change management requirements and lengthy implementations. After speaking with more than 50 in-house counsel, it was clear to us that the key to unlocking value was to give legal teams an intuitive dashboard to manage intake and tasks, while letting the rest of the company simply email in requests, redlines, approvals, and follow-up questions.”
